Start with the main idea
Begin with the subject or scene you want to create. Keep the first version simple enough that you can see what the model understands before adding more detail.
Add the details that matter
A useful prompt can include:
- Subject
- Setting
- Style
- Lighting
- Camera or composition
- Mood
You do not need to include every detail every time. Add only what helps move the result closer to what you have in mind.
Use reference images when they help
If the model or tool supports references, an image can communicate visual direction that would take many words to describe. Use references for things like character appearance, composition, style, or scene direction.
Refine one thing at a time
When a result is close but not right, change one part of the prompt instead of rewriting everything. That makes it easier to understand which detail is affecting the output.
Keep the workflow simple
A strong prompt is not always a long prompt. Clear direction, useful references, and small refinements usually make the process easier to control.
